Rooted In Trust
“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream…” Jeremiah 17: 7-8
In Jeremiah 17, God draws a vivid contrast between trusting in human strength and trusting in Him.
Trust in man leads to barrenness and brokenness while trusting in God leads to flourishing and resilience.
The one who trusts in the Lord is not shaken by heat or drought because their roots run deep. Their life is not built on what is seen but on the invisible, sustaining grace of God.
It is easy to trust when life is predictable. But what about when the ground shakes?
Jeremiah reminds us that those rooted in God don’t panic in crisis. They don’t wither when circumstances dry up. Because they draw from a source the world can’t see and can never cut off.
God doesn’t promise a storm-free life. He promises a storm-proof soul.
So plant yourself in Him. Deepen your roots in prayer, in His Word, in His presence. And no matter the season, you will stand strong.
Lord, I don’t want shallow faith. Teach me to trust You deeply and daily. Let my confidence be in You, not in people or plans. Plant me by Your stream of grace, that I may thrive in every season. Amen.
