Sure Foundation
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 3:11
The Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, California was completed in 1972 and stands as the tallest building in the city.
This office building soars 853 feet into the air and has stood as a symbol of San Francisco since 1972. It was built to withstand earthquakes.
The foundation’s concrete walls are 9 feet wide and extend as far as 52 feet deep, to absorb shock waves. The building draws its strength from a unique truss system, which features cross bracing, used above the first floor.
The 49-story office building’s advanced engineering and earthquake-resistant features were put to the test in the 1989 Loma Prieta, California, earthquake when a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the city. For a minute, the building swayed more than a foot, yet it remained undamaged.
The only perfect foundation, the one that will hold through any of life’s storms, is Jesus Christ.
Ensure that your life is built on the surest of cornerstones- Jesus Christ.
“The doctrine of our Savior and his mediation is the principal doctrine of Christianity. It lies at the bottom, and is the foundation, of all the rest.” – Matthew Henry
“So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.” – Isaiah 28:16
