The Help of the Lord
“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2
If you have never found life overwhelming, you probably haven’t lived long enough.
The pressures of responsibility, the weight of disappointment, or the sting of unexpected loss can leave us asking, “Where will my help come from?”
But Psalm 121 gives a clear answer: our help comes not from people, not from systems, and not from luck, but from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
God’s help is not like human help. His assistance doesn’t run dry, and it’s never late. He watches over us when we are awake and even while we sleep. His help is quiet but powerful, showing up in ways we didn’t expect but always just as we need.
Sometimes, His help looks like strength to endure. Other times, it’s provision we didn’t see coming. And often, it’s simply His peace that calms our hearts while the storm still rages.
You may not know how things will unfold, but be certain of this: you are not alone. The One who created the universe is the same One who holds you up. Keep looking up. Your help comes from the Lord.
Lord, thank You for being my ever-present Help. Remind me daily that You are near and that I am never without support. Help me to rest in Your faithfulness and lean not on my own strength. Amen.
