The Lord Is My Help
“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2.
When life feels overwhelming, what do you do?
When your strength fails, and support feels distant, and the weight of responsibility is heavy, how do you respond?
In such times, it may be tempting to look everywhere for help, to people, to systems, or even our own abilities.
But the psalmist redirects our gaze: “My help comes from the Lord.” Not from what’s around us, but from Who is above us. Not from limited sources, but from the Maker of heaven and earth, the One with unlimited supply, wisdom, and power.
God is not unaware of your need. He sees the silent battles, the private exhaustion, and the quiet prayers. And He does not stand afar. He draws near. He is not just the God who hears. He is the God who helps.
His help may not always come in the way we expect, but it will always come in the way we need. Sometimes it’s a door opened. Sometimes it’s strength given. Sometimes it’s peace in the middle of the storm.
Like David said in Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Don’t despair. You are not without help. You are not alone. Lift your eyes, your help is already on the way.
Lord, I lift my eyes to You. Please help me, in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen
