The Scepter Will Not Remain
“The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the lot of the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.” Psalm 125:3
Sometimes, it feels like evil holds sway far too long, unjust rulers, oppressive systems, unfair situations. The righteous may grow weary, even tempted to compromise, wondering if God sees or cares.
But Psalm 125:3 brings a powerful promise: wickedness will not have the final say.
The “scepter”, a symbol of rule and control, may appear to linger, but God will not allow it to remain indefinitely over His people because He knows the strain prolonged oppression can bring. He knows how temptation creeps in when injustice seems unending.
This verse is not just a prophecy. It is a protective word!
God sets boundaries around how far the wicked can go because He guards the hearts of His people. He will intervene before oppression leads His children to stumble.
So if you’re in a season where darkness seems to dominate, remember: God has not forgotten. The scepter will be broken!
Justice will rise. And your hands, though weary, will not be given over to evil. He is preserving both your future and your faith.
Lord, thank You for placing boundaries on evil. Strengthen me to trust in Your justice, even when it seems delayed. Keep my hands clean and my heart faithful. Amen.
