The Secret Place
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1.
There is a place in God that isn’t just for visiting. Rather, it is for dwelling.
The “secret place” is not a physical location; it is a heart posture, a lifestyle of closeness, where we live in constant communion with God.
To dwell means to settle, to remain, to live.
The secret place is where distractions are stripped away, where our soul finds rest and our spirit aligns with His. It is where God whispers truths we cannot hear in the noise of everyday life. In that place, fears lose their grip, confusion clears, and strength is renewed.
Many seek God only in moments of crisis, but He invites us to make our home in His presence.
Jesus modeled this, constantly retreating to commune with the Father.
In the secret place, burdens are exchanged for peace, and intimacy is deepened.
Lord, teach me to dwell, not just visit, your secret place. Help me silence the noise and come away with You daily. I desire to abide under Your shadow, where there is safety, love, and unbroken fellowship. Amen.
