Thy Will Be Done
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
There is a quiet strength in surrender. Not the kind that gives up, but the kind that lays everything down in trust.
When Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy will be done,” He wasn’t just giving us empty words, He was inviting us into the deepest place of alignment with the heart of the Father.
We often fear surrender because we equate God’s will with loss. But Jesus knew better. In Gethsemane, He knelt under the crushing weight of sorrow and still prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done.”
This is because He knew the Father’s will, though it led through pain, would end in glory.
“Thy will be done” is not a resignation to fate, it is a declaration of faith. It says: I trust Your wisdom above my understanding. I choose Your plans over my preferences. I believe Your way, even if hard.
God’s will may lead us through wilderness, but never without purpose. His will may ask us to wait, but never without hope. And when we pray those four words sincerely, we invite heaven’s order into our earthly chaos.
Choose peace over control. Pray for a heart that trusts in the One who leads.
Father, help me not just to accept Your will, but to love it. Teach me to trust when I don’t see. May Your will shape my life. Amen.
