Time For Joy
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
If you’re waiting for every single thing in life to be perfect before you begin to rejoice, then you will have to wait for a very long time because life will never be all sunshine and roses this side of heaven, thorns and clouds will always make an appearance!
Jesus said it this way, In this world, you will have trouble. John 16:33
Though it may not seem so at first, this is actually good news. We don’t have to wake up each day and examine our current circumstances before choosing to live joyfully.
Every moment of every day is the perfect time to rejoice.
Paul, the same one who taught us to be content in every circumstance in Philippians 4:12, instructs us to rejoice in every circumstance as well.
Christ died so that we could live joyfully; let’s embrace it.
In our scripture verse for today, See how ‘pray continually’ is in between two active phrases; ‘rejoice always’ and ‘give thanks…’ Finally, it says this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, let’s rejoice when the load seems heavy because we know we don’t bear it alone.
Let’s rejoice when there is more month than money because we know our God provides.
So it’s time to be joyful, not only when we feel like it or when the ‘stars align’ for us, but rather rejoice always. It is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!
