Unlimited God
“Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel” Psalm 78:41.
We serve a God who is infinite in wisdom, boundless in power, and perfect in His ways. Yet Scripture tells us that Israel limited the Holy One.
How?
By unbelief, small thinking, and the arrogance of leaning on their own understanding.
It is not that God loses power when we doubt, it’s that we miss out on what He longs to do when we box Him into our expectations.
God is not like us.
His ways are higher (Isaiah 55:8–9),
His power has no boundaries (Jeremiah 32:17),
His wisdom is unsearchable (Romans 11:33),
And His plans cannot be thwarted (Job 42:2).
To try and predict or contain God with our limited logic is not faith, it is foolishness!
When we rely only on what we understand, we limit what we will experience. God’s works are often beyond comprehension, yet always perfect in execution.
Consider the Red Sea (Exodus 14). Israel saw a trap. God saw a path.
Consider Lazarus (John 11). The people saw death. Jesus saw glory.
Consider the cross. The world saw defeat. Heaven saw victory.
We must stop approaching God with small expectations and boxed-in prayers. He is not a human being who needs our help to plan. He is not limited by economy, reports, timelines, or qualifications.
Faith doesn’t figure it all out, it trusts the One who already has.
You need to repent of small thinking. Repent of doubting His greatness because of your weakness. Lift your eyes higher. Pray bolder. Dream wider. Because the Holy One of Israel cannot be stopped, and He’s not done with you.
Lord, forgive me for limiting You with my own logic. You are unlimited, unstoppable, and full of power. Do in my life what only You can do. I choose to trust, even when I don’t understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
