Why Do We Pray?
“God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!”Psalm 66: 19-20
If we don’t understand why we pray without ceasing, we will most likely stop praying altogether. We will realise that prayer has slipped down not just our priority list but also down our activity list until it becomes totally forgotten.
One of the foremost reasons why we Pray is that our prayers attract God.
Our Father in heaven loves to hear from us. He wants to hear our heart’s desires, our fears, our plans, our thoughts, our questions, and our requests
Prayer is the act of communicating with God sincerely and honestly.
When you pray and cry out to God, it attracts His attention.
When you pray, it’s a welcome sign of personal imperfection and dependence on God. Prayer-lessness is a sign of pride and arrogance towards God and telling Him that He is not needed and you can take care of your matters yourself.
Praying is not a sign of weakness, rather it is the drawing on of a far greater strength than self. By praying you attract the greatest power in the universe into your life.
Maybe you are working so hard trying to reason and figure it all out, why don’t you call on God for help.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to walk alone.
You don’t need to live with the fear of an uncertain future.
You just need to speak out sincerely and honestly in prayer to God about it all.
