Wisdom And Humility
“Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.” Proverbs 13:10
There is a correlation between wisdom and humility, as illuminated in Proverbs 13:10.
This verse contrasts the presence of strife, often fueled by pride, with the presence of wisdom, which is demonstrated by a willingness to seek and heed counsel.
Pride breeds strife and conflict, as individuals insist on their own way and refuse to listen to the perspectives of others.
In contrast, wisdom is characterized by humility—a recognition of our own limitations and a willingness to learn from others. Those who are wise understand the value of seeking advice and counsel from others, recognizing that they do not have all the answers.
Taking advice requires humility, vulnerability, and a willingness to acknowledge that we do not have all the answers. It involves setting aside our own pride and ego to consider the perspectives and insights of others.
Doing so opens us up to growth, learning, and deeper understanding.
As followers of Christ, let us cultivate humility in our lives and relationships, recognizing that true wisdom comes from God.
May we seek counsel from others, listen with open hearts and minds, and humbly consider how we can grow and learn from the wisdom of those around us.
