You’ve Been Appointed
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Do you know that before the foundations of the Earth, God had a plan and purpose for us?
We were in His mind long before we were born. Not only did He have a plan for us way in advance, but He is also the One who formed us in our mother’s wombs. He formed us in His image to look like Him, have a relationship with Him, and be Him to those around us.
In today’s verse, we see that God had appointed Jeremiah as a prophet to the nations long before he was born. He has done the same thing for us. He has called us and appointed us to something specific. This does not mean we are all called to be prophets, pastors, or apostles.
Not every calling is for someone who works in a church. He calls some of us to work out in the marketplace. We need people who are called by God to be lawyers, engineers, doctors, politicians, teachers, etc. That is how our world will change.
Just because some are not called to work in a church does not mean their calling is less valuable. It is just as crucial as the pastors.
Every part of the body is essential. Seek God out and see what role He has called you to. Once you hear from Him, start taking steps to walk in and steward that calling.
Look for opportunities to start doing what He has appointed for you.
What has God called and appointed you to?
